Are a few praise choruses strung together really all there is to worship? If people are not naturally inclined toward music does that mean that their “worship” is somehow less legitimate? Is worship confined to one’s ability to do-re-mi?
Or, does it, in fact, move toward a more holistic form of worship: offering all of one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength unto the Lord.
To me it doesn’t seem right that worship is easier or better for someone who has more of a natural inclination toward music. I really like music. And, I’ve grown up as a “musician” but I’d like to think that even if I had been born tone-deaf and unable to carry a pitch in a pail with the cover on it that I would still be able to worship my God and my King.
What about you? What do you think worship is really all about?
This is my prayer for living worship:
Abba Father, I offer all of myself unto you, my God and my King. Will you take me as you find me? Touch me, try me, transform me, and conform me to your perfect will and way!
Blessings,
